HEALTHPOINT Provides Sponsorship for VA Hospital
Podiatry Residents Nationwide to “Attend” Weekly Lectures
by National Experts Via Internet

(Fort Worth, TX) --- HEALTHPOINT®, Ltd., a Texas-based market leader in pharmaceuticals and medical devices for wound care, has provided a sponsorship for the Veterans Administration (VA) Podiatry residents to participate in the Podiatric Residency Education Services E-learning Network Training (PRESENT) program.

The PRESENT Residency Courseware program, approved by the Council of Teaching Hospitals and the Committee of Podiatric Medical Education, is designed to support podiatric residency programs, one of the largest programs in the country.

PRESENT Courseware’s program sessions are accessible 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world. Residents, who simply need internet access to fulfill their weekly lecture requirement, are closely monitored by podiatric directors who track resident participation and performance as required by the Committee of Podiatric Medical Education. Directors also maintain control over lecture sequence and selection.

“I see enormous value in these educational materials for resident education as well as a tool for other academic and scholarly activity,” said Jeffrey M. Robbins, DPM, Director Podiatry Services VACO, Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC. “This is a wonderful technologic achievement and has far reaching implications for the future of both resident lecture and CME.”

HEALTHPOINT will sponsor six of the 52 one-hour, online presentations intended to cover the full range of podiatric fundamentals in addition to providing the sponsorship for all VA hospital podiatric residents.

Sessions include resource recommendations for further, independent learning as well as quizzes to test and record resident competencies in each area. To further reinforce session content, the interactive and collaborative courseware encourages residents to discuss their learning via email.

Said Dr. Robbins, “Healthpoint has made an important and very visible contribution to podiatric medical education and your efforts are truly valued.”

Dr. Robbins, one of the podiatric experts to produce a lecture for the series, received an honorarium for his contribution.

“As a teaching tool, PRESENT allows podiatric directors to concentrate on their residents’ professional development and knowledge base by alleviating the burden of weekly presentation preparation and scheduling,” added Scott Goodridge, Marketing Manager for Healthpoint. “HEALTHPOINT understands the need to make quality online medical education productive for directors and residents alike.”
