HEALTHPOINT Introduces
Unit Doses of Panafil®, Accuzyme®



       (Fort Worth, TX) — HEALTHPOINT, Ltd., a Texas-based market leader in tissue management, surgical, and dermatology products, has introduced the first unit dose packaging of its popular prescription ointments Panafil® and Accuzyme®---in bar coded six-gram units to complement the standard 30 gram tubes.

        Accuzyme is an enzymatic debriding ointment used to treat necrotic wounds, pressure ulcers and burns by removing dead tissue without harming living tissue. Panafil is a healing, debriding, and deodorizing ointment that promotes healing, controls local inflammation and reduces wound odors.

        “Chronic wounds affect millions of people every day,” said Richard Rudman, wound management marketing director for Healthpoint’s Tissue Management Division. “These new six gram unit doses give health care providers and patients a safe, easy option for first time applications and for situations that require less therapy.”

        Panafil and Accuzyme are backed by years of use, clinical support, and a proven formula, according to Mr. Rudman. The new packaging also reduces potential waste, he said. Healthpoint is offering these products in unit dose to provide convenience, to all those who have benefited over the years from the original 30g versions of each.

        Unit doses for Panafil® and Accuzyme® will be available February 1 to distributor/drug wholesalers across the United States. Panafil and Accuzyme are generally well tolerated by patients using these products however upon application a small percentage of patients may experience a brief stinging sensation.
