J&J, ETHICON Veteran Joy D. Choate Joins DFB Pharmaceuticals
as Director, Business Compliance



       (Fort Worth, TX) --- H. Paul Dorman, Chairman and CEO of DFB Pharmaceuticals Inc., has announced that Joy D. Choate, former director of enterprise/demand planning for the Johnson & Johnson family of companies (NYSE: JNJ), has joined DFB as Director of Business Compliance.

        Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, DFB Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a privately-held corporation that provides technology-driven pharmaceutical products, outsourcing services, and licensing opportunities to the healthcare industry worldwide through its branded marketing affiliate organizations and contract partners.

        In this newly-created position, Ms. Choate will utilize her expansive experience in improving efficiencies and workflow processes for global pharmaceutical affiliates to facilitate DFB’s development of enterprise-wide process management metrics, policies and procedures, and risk assessment infrastructure to support process and operations excellence.

        “With her wealth of experience in pharmaceutical demand and supply forecasting, process planning, and strategic integration, Joy Choate will be a strong asset for DFB and its affiliates,” said Mr. Dorman.

        Most recently the process excellence deployment champion at ETHICON, Inc., a New Jersey-based global medical device company that is part of Johnson & Johnson’s worldwide healthcare products enterprise, Ms. Choate has also worked in key executive positions and on the board of directors for J&J Medical, a company she helped migrate into ETHICON in 2001-2002. During her 15 years with J&J and its affiliates, she was active in trade and affiliate accounting; with merger, acquisition, and divestiture projects; and as sales, marketing, supply chain, and financial controller positions in the wound care and infection prevention divisions, among others. Certified by the International Quality Federation as a Six Sigma Black Belt, Ms. Choate will utilize her training and experience with worldwide efficiencies and workflow processes for enterprise-wide planning and implementation at DFB.

        She is fluent in Spanish, a skill that was developed while serving as plant controller of San Lorenzo Manufacturing in Puerto Rico. Joy Choate earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in accounting at Angelo State University in 1983, then went on to earn an Executive Master of Business Administration degree in international management from Baylor University in 2003.
