| (Fort
Worth, TX) --- HEALTHPOINT, Ltd. has announced that its novel spray
delivery system for ACCUZYME® (Papain, Urea) Spray and PANAFIL® (Papain,
Urea, Chlorophyllin Copper Complex Sodium) Spray has been recognized
as a new medical technology by the Novation Wound Care Management
Council.
Novation is the supply company of VHA Inc. and the University HealthSystem
Consortium (UHC). Novation is committed to ensuring that VHA and UHC
members have access to information about new and potentially innovative
health care technology.
According to Sarah Young, Product Manager of the Tissue Management
Division at HEALTHPOINT, the spray dosage form saves time, and more
importantly, reduces trauma to patients and their wounds.
The ACCUZYME® Spray and PANAFIL® Spray delivery system gives
health care providers a dosage form to spray onto wounds without the
use of applicators commonly used with comparable ointments. The spray
delivery form allows for fast and easy applications onto wound beds
without running or dripping.
“This spray system translates into a significant time savings
for health care providers,” said Ms. Young, “and enables
them to treat those hard to reach areas with less waste.”
Upon application a small percentage of patients may occasionally experience
a slight stinging sensation when using ACCUZYME® Spray or PANAFIL® Spray.
