The Covey Restaurant & Brewery celebrates first anniversary, snags new executive chef

(Fort Worth, Texas) --- Jamie Fulton, Brewmaster and owner of The Covey Restaurant & Brewery, has announced that Sean Merchant has joined The Covey as executive chef. Mr. Merchant was most recently executive chef at Sky Creek Ranch Country Club in Keller and has graced the kitchen of Fort Worth’s River Crest Country Club and Lonesome Dove Western Bistro.

“Sean’s talent and creativity are exactly what we need as we enter our second year of business,” Mr. Fulton said. “His culinary and business skills make him an excellent team member, and I look forward to seeing and tasting what he cooks up for us.”

With Mr. Merchant’s arrival, he and Mr. Fulton have modified The Covey’s menu and begun plans for special events with prix fixe menus and beer pairings throughout the year.

Mr. Merchant is a graduate of the Culinary School at the Art Institute of Dallas, Texas. Previously, Mr. Merchant was executive chef at the Holiday Inn Fort Worth South. From the Holiday Inn, Mr. Merchant became executive chef at Sky Creek Ranch Country Club.

Mr. Merchant is a member of both the American Culinary Federation and the Texas Chef Association of Dallas, Texas.

The Covey Restaurant and Brewery is located at 3010 S. Hulen in Fort Worth, Texas, and serves fine food with a flair for wild game and custom-crafted beer, brewed on site. The Covey, established in April 2005, is a brew pub that’s two venues in one: a comfortable pub with a full bar and an elegant restaurant. The pub, with its 52” and 42” HD TVs, is a great spot for watching the big game. The restaurant is perfect for a quiet dinner, business lunch, or an evening worth celebrating. Brewmaster Jamie Fulton and executive chef Sean Merchant periodically feature special menus and beer tastings. The Covey is open seven days a week; Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Friday and Saturday, 11:00 AM until midnight. The kitchen and dining room close each day at 10:00 PM; to-go orders are available during kitchen hours. The Covey welcomes groups celebrating special occasions; please contact Jamie Fulton for more details. Please stop by or visit www.thecovey.com for menus or more information.
