FORT WORTH, TEXAS (November 20, 2008) – Bo Soderbergh, Executive Director of Tarrant Area Food Bank, announced today that Mary Kathryn Anderson has been promoted to Business Development Director for the Food Bank. As Business Development Director, Ms. Anderson will serve as a liaison to Tarrant area business and civic communities, giving the Food Bank an ongoing presence in these communities. She has been Volunteer Resources Director at the Food Bank since March 2007. A long-time resident of Fort Worth and 1970 graduate of Texas Christian University, Ms. Anderson’s previous experience includes co-owning Magnolia and Main Partners, L.P.; providing counseling as Drake, Beam, Morin, Inc.’s Contract Trainer/Facilitator; and owning and serving as the Trainer/Facilitator for Anderson Training Services. A tireless volunteer, Ms. Anderson dedicates spare time as a docent at the Kimbell Art Museum and serves on boards and committees to better our city, including the boards of Fort Worth South Inc.; Historic Southside, Inc.; The Multicultural Alliance and Partners Together for Health at John Peter Smith Hospital. She has also taught Continuing Education courses for TCU. Founded in 1982 to collect and distribute donated food, Tarrant Area Food Bank provides food in 13 counties to emergency pantries, Kids Cafes and other after-school programs, emergency shelters, senior centers, children's homes and other social service centers. Each month, this network of hunger-relief charities distributes emergency groceries to an average of 50,000 families and serves 500,000 meals and snacks on charities' sites.
