How: During the seventh bi-annual competition, a total of 2,864 beers from 644 breweries across 58 countries and 45 U.S. states were examined across 91 beer categories. The top three entries in each category won gold, silver and bronze medals.

*Vienna lager is a reddish-brown or copper colored beer with medium body and slight malt sweetness. **Barleywine, a style of strong ale that originated in England, is as strong as a wine but since it is made from a grain is in fact a beer.
