Frank Windegger Joins Meridian Bank Texas Team


         FORT WORTH , Texas (Dec. 29, 2008) Glenn Monroe, CEO of Meridian Bank Texas, announced that Frank Windegger has joined the bank as Business Development and Community Affairs Officer.

         In his new role, Mr. Windegger’s responsibilities include cultivating customer relationships as a goodwill ambassador to the Fort Worth community and generating new business for Meridian Bank Texas.

         “Mr. Windegger’s dedication to and connections in the community make him a valuable asset to our team,” said Mr. Monroe. “He was Director of Athletics at Texas Christian University for 23 years, a role that provided him many affiliations throughout Fort Worth.”

         After retiring in 1998 as TCU’s Athletics Director Emeritus, Mr. Windegger received the prestigious 2001 Homer Rice Award, which honors former NCAA Division 1-A Athletic Directors for lifetime contributions to intercollegiate athletics.

         Prior to serving as director of athletics, Mr. Windegger coached TCU’s baseball team, leading them to four conference titles, becoming the youngest coach in Southwest Conference history to win a championship. He also served on numerous NCAA committees and boards including the Men’s Final Four Basketball Committee, the NCAA Council, the NCAA Nominating Committee, Athletics Directors Board, NCAA Executive Committee, and is a past president of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

         Mr. Windegger graduated from TCU in 1957, then joined the United States Army Infantry and served as a First Lieutenant until he returned to TCU in 1959.

         Mr. Windegger and his wife, Barbara, have been residents of Fort Worth for 55 years. He will be officing at Meridian Bank Texas’ new headquarters at 100 Lexington, Suite 100 on the west side of downtown Fort Worth.
