(Fort Worth, Texas) - Richard Baumeister, managing partner at Fort Worth-based Sanford, Baumeister & Frazier, PLLC, has announced that Kevin Carey, CPA, has joined the firm as Director of Business Assurance.

    As Director of Business Assurance, Mr. Carey focuses primarily on publicly-traded companies and providing Sarbanes Oxley compliance services for firm clients.

    Kevin Carey has over thirteen years of experience in financial, technical, business process, operational and IT audit and advisory services for organizations in a variety of industries. Most recently, he was employed at KPMG in Dallas as a Director of Internal Audit Services. Previously, he spent five years with Belo Corporation in Dallas as the Manager of Internal Audit before being promoted into Corporate Finance. Mr. Carey was also employed as an Internal Auditor by PricewaterhouseCoopers, Columbia HCA and Veterans Health Administration.

    A graduate of the University of North Texas in Denton, Kevin Carey holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Accounting.
Mr. Carey is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. An active community volunteer, he is a member of St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Dallas, participates in Habitat for Humanity, and volunteers for the Houston MS 150.
