ABC Television’s Popular Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Coming to Dallas/Fort
Worth in December
(ARLINGTON,
TX) – Arlington’s Steve Wall announced today that ABC Television has
selected his team from Wall Homes Inc. for an upcoming Extreme
Makeover: Home Edition episode scheduled to air in early 2009. The Emmy-award winning
hit reality show will surprise one North Texas family with a new home
as part of its current “Heroes in the Community” season.
ABC’s Ty Pennington, design team leader, will be joined by
his teammates Paul DiMeo, Tracy Hutson, Eduardo Xol, and John Littlefield, to
notify
the recipients at their residence on Monday, December 8, 2008.
“This season of Extreme Makeover is about giving back
to local heroes in our community,” said Mr. Wall. “With tremendous support from
our subcontractors
and vendors, we are personally honored to provide a home to a family who has
already given so much of their time and energy to north Texas.”
“In
our daily work, we must be agile and quick - - now we can use that
experience and our heartfelt commitment to the community to respond
for this special project,”
he added.
“It’s a chance to give back to the community as a whole,
and also to recognize and honor our local heroes,” said Erin Kolp, who is Wall’s
public relations
director and chief of staff. Their
team will have the critical leadership roles and the responsibility of
working around-the-clock to construct this home in a period of
just over 100
hours. The actual project timeframe extends to seven days, which includes
the notification and demolition time periods, should they be needed.
The
Wall team has partnered with Cumulus Media, Inc. as its primary broadcast
group for the week of the build. Listeners can tune into The Ticket-1310AM,
The Wolf-99.5FM, The Bone-93.3FM, and KLIF-570AM to get daily updates and
hear interviews throughout the week.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition features a team
of designers, contractors, and several hundred workers who race against time
to complete a four-month
home
building and renovation project in just seven days. The team has one week
to totally rebuild and furnish an entire house complete with landscaping.
The
lives of the lucky families are changed forever when they learn that they've
been selected to have their home rebuilt, according to the network. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has won back-to-back Emmy Awards as
Best Reality Program (non-competitive) and is entering its sixth
season on ABC. The program
is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. Conrad Ricketts
is the executive producer; and David Goldberg is the president of Endemol
USA. The show airs on Sundays (7:00-8:00 CST), on the ABC Television Network.
