Nearly 500 Food-insecure Families to Receive a Turkey Resulting From TCU’s Flawless Season on the Field
Kroger to donate 488 turkeys to the Tarrant Area Food Bank on Thursday, December 10

WHO/WHAT
Resulting from TCU’s impeccable performance on the gridiron this season, nearly 500 local families in need will receive turkeys this holiday season as part of a special program called “Turkeys for Touchdowns” between TCU and Kroger. At the beginning of the season, TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson challenged Kroger’s Gary Huddleston to donate one Private Selection turkey to the Tarrant Area Food Bank for every point the Horned Frogs scored. Coincidentally, TCU went undefeated this season and scored a record number of points – 488.

Ranking number three in the country and champions of the Mountain West Conference, TCU’s success on the field not only has elevated the team’s position in the world of college sports, but their victories are directly benefitting food-insecure families in the Dallas-Fort Worth community.

Interview and photo ops will be available with TCU football players, and officials from the Tarrant Area Food Bank and Kroger.
