(FORT WORTH, TX) — Healthpoint, Ltd.,
a Fort Worth-based company committed to advancing the science and innovation
of wound care, was recently named to Training Magazine’s Top
125 List for 2010. This is the first year that Healthpoint applied
to be named to the Training Top 125, finishing 104 among all companies.
The 2010 Training Top 125 is an annual ranking
that honors organizations that offer outstanding employer-sponsored
workforce training and development. Other companies recognized in the
Top 125 include Microsoft, Cisco, Bank of America, and the US Navy.
“Healthpoint is committed to providing
the resources necessary for any employee to exceed both their personal
and professional goals,” said Jimmy Kitson, Director of Sales
Training and Development for Healthpoint. “It is truly an honor
to be recognized by Training Magazine as one of the top companies in
the United States for the training and development of our employees.”
In 2009, Healthpoint successfully combined innovative
and cost effective courses geared towards the development of all employees. Examples
of these training and development initiatives include:
- Healthpoint University: A blended learning curriculum
combining online courses and practical training geared to assist Healthpoint’s
sales force to meet the needs of the medical community. All sales employees receive
over 280 hours of training in their first year with the company and an additional
40-80 hours of training each year thereafter.
- Healthpoint Online Management Training website: With access
to over 180 online courses, all managers and trainers have
the ability to develop their skills
in a wide variety of topics including coaching, executive writing, and
leadership skills.
- Developmental Resource Library: All employees have access to
hundreds of courses through the Tape Rental Library. This
resource is available
at no cost to all
employees.
- Individual Development Plans for all employees: All managers
create an individual development plan for each employee,
outlining areas for increased
effectiveness,
productivity and personal growth. These plans are monitored and updated
throughout the year.
Healthpoint
plans to expand their training initiatives in 2010 with additional
courses for both home office and field-based employees, according
to Mr. Kitson.
“I am very proud of our training and human resource groups for all of the
years of diligent efforts to make our training department one of the best, which
culminated in achieving this prestigious award,” states Travis Baugh, President
and Chief Operating Officer of Healthpoint. “Although we always knew within
Healthpoint that our training group was top notch, it is quite satisfying to
have this kind of recognition by an industry icon like Training Magazine.”
For the 10th year in a row, an outside research and statistical data company,
under the guidance of Training Magazine, developed the Top 125 list. The companies
are scored based on quantitative and qualitative data supplied by applicants,
including best training practices, evaluation methods, and outstanding training
initiatives. For more information about Training Magazine’s Top 125 visit
