Seven Marketocracy Masters featured in The Warren Buffetts Next Door Marketocracy Masters are seven of ten “Warren Buffett Next Door,” praised for performance histories, styles, track records (San Mateo, California) --- Ken Kam, CEO of Marketocracy Inc., announced that seven of his top financial analysts, the Marketocracy Masters, have received the designation of “Warren Buffett Next Door” in a new book, The Warren Buffetts Next Door: The World's Greatest Investors You've Never Heard Of and What You Can Learn from Them by Forbes vice president and investing editor Matthew Schifrin. Published by Wiley and Sons, the book landed in bookstores last week. Mr. Schifrin profiled these seven Marketocracy Masters: Mike Koza, Chris Rees, Jack Weyland, Randy McDuff, John Navin, Justin Uyehara, and Kai Petainen. Each has been a member of Marketocracy Data Services LLC (MDS), a subsidiary of Marketocracy Inc., for at least eight to ten years. MDS offers model portfolio management opportunities to members, and through MDS, Marketocracy Inc. operates a farm team system that tracks member investment talent and skill to identify the finest investors. It is the only such farm system in existence and differentiates investor qualifications by eight- to ten-year track records. The seven “Warren Buffetts Next Door” have participated in the Marketocracy farm system and by their efforts have also been titled Marketocracy Masters. “In September, we were aware that Schifrin
had chosen three of our Marketocracy Masters as ‘Warren Buffetts Next Door’ in his book,” said
Mr. Kam. “Now we know that seven of the ten profiled investors
were first discovered by Marketocracy. This further substantiates our
farm system approach to locating investing talent. We’re honored
that Matt recognizes the value of Marketocracy’s farm system and
our Masters.” “When it comes to investment advice, we believe you shouldn’t have to depend on talk when you can review track records, and you shouldn’t accept promises when you can watch performance history,” said Mr. McCarthy. “We maintain that an investor’s track record is the best indicator of skill, and the longer the track record, the more validity. MDS track records speak for themselves; Matt’s book further supports our belief in the power of these track records.” On its website, Marketocracy features detailed investment performance
histories and profiles of the Warren
Buffetts Next Door and the other
talented Marketocracy
Masters. Site visitors can sign up for a subscription
option that allows them to “follow” the investors, review
their track records, study their investment strategies, and receive updates
when adjustments are made to their top five holdings. There is no charge
for the subscription. More details are available at http://marketocracy.com/mds/warren-buffetts-next-door. “Baseball teams require that players prove
themselves first, before they take the field,” said Mr. Kam. “Similarly, we think investment
professionals should have to prove themselves before they are allowed
to manage other people’s money.” Marketocracy Capital Management LLC (MCM) is an S.E.C. registered investment advisor that contracts with MDS to use the research generated by the Marketocracy Masters to manage mutual funds, hedge funds, and separately managed accounts for clients. MCM requires that all MCM Analysts first achieve the designation of Marketocracy Master, a vetting process that precedes use of their investment research and strategies on client accounts. Marketocracy has offices in California and Texas and is on the
web at http://marketocracy.com. ### ## |
