Unique upscale accessories options abound at Prim & Proper, new
boutique on the boulevard opening this month in Fort Worth

From fancy finds for friends to special focus on Fort Worth community,
Melanie Jones puts her personal touch on Prim & Proper

(Fort Worth, Texas)— This month, there’s special summer sizzle on Camp Bowie Boulevard as second generation retailer Melanie Jones opens the doors to her new boutique Prim & Proper, an upscale specialty store featuring whimsical, attractive, and unique accessories.
From fine gifts and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces to pet products, housewares, and letterpress notecards, Prim & Proper wants to inspire women---especially young mothers---by creating new ways to feel beautiful and express individuality through gifts for others and themselves.

Located at 4823 Camp Bowie, Prim & Proper wants to set a new standard in fashion forward featured items.

“We’re capturing the spirit and passion that so many young wives, career women, and mothers exude when caring for and sharing with families, friends, and community,” said Ms. Jones. “And we hope to do it with style, grace, and humor.”

Prim & Proper is next in line of a family tradition of high-end specialty retail stores.

“Prim & Proper is about the women of Fort Worth who have inspired me throughout my life, beginning first and foremost with my mother, Alyce Jones,” she said.

And, following in the Adair Eyewear tradition of excellence in products and customer service, Ms. Jones will begin day one by aligning with different local charitable organizations. Adair Eyewear, located in the Chapel Hill shopping center property owned by Lena Pope Home, was founded in 1980.

At Prim & Proper during each month of its opening year, sales will benefit a number of non-profits.

    “
My heritage is a passion for non-profits,” she said. “My opening month will honor the Lena Pope Home connection. We’ll give back five percent of proceeds of sales of planners and desk accessories to this fine organization.”

Then, in August, Ms. Jones highlights pets and their human parents who believe they, too, deserve the very best, all while shining light on a new, local effort, Tarrant Area Food Bank’s Pet Food Bank. Five percent of sales of dog bowls will be donated to the Pet Food Bank, and there are also plans in the works for a pet food drive.     And during September, when all eyes and ears are focused on the Zoo Ball, Ms. Jones is assembling a show-stopping array of animal-inspired jewelry and other stylish accessories for ball attendees (and all animal lovers). September proceeds will benefit the Fort Worth Zoo. To learn more about Fort Worth Zoo, visit: http://www.fortworthzoo.org/.

To request consideration for your non-profit, contact Prim & Proper’s community program at (817) 377-3558.

Melanie Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations Global Business from the University of Southern California, as well as a degree from the fashion design program at Parsons The New School for Design in New York, NY. Ms. Jones returned to Fort Worth in 2007 to work with her mother, Alyce Adair Jones, helping to expand and enhance the Adair Eyewear business.
