(Fort Worth, Texas)— Susan S. Roberts, CPA, a partner with Sanford, Baumeister & Frazier, PLLC, has been elected president of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She will serve a one-year term.

    Her leadership for the TSCPA Fort Worth Chapter reflects a continuing dedication to professional community service by SB&F. SB&F has had seven presidents of the Fort Worth & Dallas Chapters. Fort Worth’s include, in addition to Susan Roberts, Curtis Frazier (1960-1961); Leonard Brantley (1961-1962); Len Brantley (1981-1982); Allyson B. Baumeister (1999-2000); and Richard T. Baumeister (2003-2004). Donna Hugly served in Dallas, 2000-2001. The Fort Worth Chapter has over 2,300 members.

    SB&F is a member of the Fort Worth Chapter TSCPA’s Century Club, a designation for firms that demonstrate their commitment to the profession by ensuring that every CPA on their staff is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs. The Texas Society is one of the largest organizations of its kind in the nation, with over 28,000 members.

    Five from the firm have been elected to the Executive Board of the TSCPA: Leonard Brantley, Curtis Frazier, Donna J. Hugly, Allyson B. Baumeister, and Richard T. Baumeister. Curtis Frazier was President of the TSCPA in 1976-1976.

    Nationally, SB&F’s Allyson Baumeister is currently a member of the 23-member Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is serving a three year term that ends in 2012. The AICPA has 330,000 members across the country.

    Within the Fort Worth Chapter, Ms. Roberts has enjoyed active participation in the organization over the years as a member of the board of directors and officer. She formerly served as president-elect, treasurer, programs vice president, and secretary and has volunteered for a number of committees.

    In 2007, the Fort Worth Chapter honored Susan by naming her “Young CPA of the Year.”

    The CPA Technology Advisor named Susan Roberts one of the “Top 40 Under 40 CPA’s in the Nation.” That designation honors professionals who will help lead the finance and accounting industry into the future. Fort Worth Business Press has recognized Ms. Roberts as one of the top, local “40 Under 40” young leaders.

    An avid writer and lecturer, Ms. Roberts is recognized nationwide as an organizer and provider of professional continuing education for CPAs, conducting frequent seminars on important tax law changes. She co-authors articles, guidance books and online support columns for accountants, CPAs, and other financial professionals. She has also developed an interactive financial planning website for professionals and clients.

    Fluent in Spanish, Susan Roberts earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Baylor University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1990. She completed her Master of Taxation degree the following year.
