Steinway
Hall – Dallas Welcomes John Lennon “Imagine” Series
Steinway Hall – Dallas will host a grand unveiling event on Thursday, April 14, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. featuring the Lennon Imagine Series piano and Steinway Lyngdorf audio systems. The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP at www.steinwaypianos.com or by calling 214-526-1853. Modeled after the white Steinway grand piano presented by John
Lennon to Yoko Ono on her birthday,
February 18, in 1971, Imagine Series pianos feature several special,
unique elements that trace their connection
to Lennon:
The Imagine Series piano at Steinway Hall – Dallas has Lennon’s Self-Portrait on its music desk. Steinway & Sons will build only 25 Self-Portrait pianos worldwide. “We are absolutely thrilled to have a John Lennon Imagine Series piano here,” said Daniel Saliba, president of Steinway Hall – Dallas/Fort Worth/Plano. “Steinway & Sons designed this piano to inspire musicians and audiences across the world, and its quality and origins are an honor to the Steinway name.” The Imagine Series piano arrived at Steinway Hall – Dallas last
week. It will be displayed in the Dallas showroom until Monday, April
25, then travel to Steinway Hall’s Fort Worth and Plano locations
through May 2011 or until its purchase. Other luxury brands on stage during the evening include Trufig, maker of flush-mounting systems; Lutron specialty lighting; and Montblanc, creator of the John Lennon Special Edition, Commemoration Edition 1940, and Limited Edition 70 writing instruments (www.montblanc.com/john_lennon). Guests will enjoy live performances of Beatles music throughout the evening. “This will be a very special opportunity to experience these instruments. Every one of the Imagine Series pianos is a work of art,” said Casey Saliba. “It’s a beautiful way to honor the legacy of a man who was an international icon and continues as an ambassador in music, politics, art, and culture.” Steinway & Sons plans to make only 100 Imagine Series pianos.
To mark authenticity, each Steinway Imagine Series instrument will
feature a medallion on its inner rim including the series name and
number, as well as John Lennon’s Japanese signature (which
marked Lennon’s own artwork). For more information about this
piano and the event, contact Steinway Hall – Dallas; special
orders of the Imagine Series are available, as well, though pianos
with Lennon’s Self-Portrait are no longer available to order. ### |
