PHPR has been the administrative, public and professional information office of the DAO for over 20 years. We communicate with members and others on the DAO’s behalf, and we have informed North Texans on medical eye health through physician volunteers implementing a public education program. This program included, among other tactics, providing speakers bureau presentations, distributing news releases, producing and distributing public service announcements, supporting letters to the editor campaigns, surveying, civic recognition and other services. PHPR and client goals included increasing DAO member understanding of the communications process, involvement in that process, and successful outreach; supporting and maintaining ongoing membership; and close work with advocacy groups on medical issues. PHPR Inc. also performs ongoing administrative duties for the DAO including member communications and development and maintenance of the DAO website.
