Public Information Marketing

Fort Worth Independent School District engaged Paige Hendricks Public Relations, Inc. to provide professional marketing support and public awareness for Project ASAP, a program funded by a grant from the Texas Education Agency and designed to increase 10th and 11th grade student interest and achievement in science as measured by the science portion of the Texas Assessment and Skills (TAKS test). In 2004, after branding the program as “It’s Science!,” our efforts included focus group interviews with students; an outreach and communications plan that could be used repeatedly for “It’s Science!”; promotions and innovative ideas to increase participation; and coaching and instruction for FWISD administrators and teachers about PR and marketing and their applications for classroom inspiration. In addition PHPR provided consulting, issues management, and immediate communications solutions for the district team overseeing the grant program.
